New Paragraph
The food pantry was canceled for February 22. The workers who run the food pantry had the flu.
In an abundance of caution, we are canceled the food pantry to protect people's health.
The food pantry will return on March 29. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are a small church with a big heart, serving the needs of Missouri Synod Lutherans in Crown Point,
Hobart, Merrillville, Valparaiso and the surrounding communities since 1992. It is a warm and friendly
congregation that cares deeply about our members and is welcoming to our visitors.
Are you looking for a closer relationship with your Savior Jesus Christ?
Are you looking for the peace and joy that comes from weekly worship with others who believe?
Are you looking for a smaller, close knit congregation?
Are you looking for Bible based sermons and Bible studies?
Are you looking for traditional Lutheran liturgy and hymns?
We may be what you are looking for in a Church Family.
Join us this Sunday or reach out to us if you would like to learn more about our congregation.
Resurrection is a friendly, close-knit, traditional Lutheran congregation. Welcoming to everyone, we are dedicated to spreading the Holy Gospel and sharing the love of Jesus, our Savior. We use the Lutheran Service Book for our worship services. We print the order of service in a weekly handout to make it easier for our guests. We enjoy the traditional hymns and music, with some popular additions.
We look forward to having you visit our friendly little church and meet the members of our church “family”.
For the Joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God.
We believe in the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit as professed in the Nicene Creed.
We believe that Jesus is the Savior and that by believing in Him we are saved. We believe that we are saved by God’s Grace alone, through Faith – not by our works.
In the Gospel of Matthew Jesus tells us how we are to live our lives, He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first great Commandment. And the second is like unto it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two Commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets.”
Therefore we aspire to live every day as commanded by our Lord – loving God with our whole hearts and our neighbors as ourselves.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The mission of Resurrection Lutheran Church is to grow in faith so that we shine for Christ and proclaim His everlasting love!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
The Reverend Mark Pflughoeft a long-time resident of Northern Indiana, served as our regular Pastor until the end of June 2024. As a Pastor and a former teacher, his sermons as well as his Bible classes offer wonderful opportunities to learn
more about the Bible and our church’s teachings and to grow in wisdom and knowledge of God’s word.
Pastor and his wife have been a true blessing for our congregation.

What I like about Resurrection is that it’s like a family – no cliques here!
- KL
Everybody really cares about each other and supports one another and that’s rare these days.

We transferred here a couple of years ago, and from day one we felt extremely welcomed. Everyone was
so nice, friendly and happy for us to be here. It’s a very warm and friendly atmosphere.

It’s a pleasure to come and worship where everyone is so nice. Also I know that the true Word of God will be preached.
"When my wife and I first attended service at this church we were delighted to find that it is such a friendly and welcoming group of people. We wanted a church that was Bible based. This was the first church we visited when we moved into the area from Illinois in 2014 and felt right at home immediately. We just happened to attend on a Sunday when they were having brunch after the service. That was a wonderful experience and we made several new friends. We have been there ever since."

Resurrection Lutheran Church believes strongly in the power of prayer. Members are welcome to request prayers to be said during the weekly Sunday service OR if prayers are urgently needed, our Prayer Partners Group can be activated to support our members when prayers are needed sooner than Sunday services. Our church community is here to support our members and our community through life’s joys and hardships.
Prayers can be requested by calling the church office directly, speaking to the Pastor before services, or you can submit a prayer request by using this on-line form.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
